Anonymous asked: Hello! I love this blog, history jokes are my weakness. Do you know any blogs specific to the French and Indian war, American revolution, or Caligula?

Aw, thank you, Anon! Glad you like us!

I’m not sure about any French and Indian War or Caligula blogs, but maybe some of our followers do?

I do happen to know quite a few American Revolution ones, though! There’s a history group here on tumblr called The History Peeps, and if you check out that tag or “thp”, you’ll find them. There’s a little bit of everything, but the main groups are the American and French Revolutions. If you want actual specific blogs, I can give you some, too.

Anonymous asked: Typical "history" blog. Try less white/European/American history for a change.

I’m sorry I know I said I wouldn’t post hate but this is kind of funny.

This is not just a history blog, this is a satirical blog. Try making satire about something the audience doesn’t know about. And not much of tumblr knows about non European/American history because welp this is largely (edit: emphasizing that because apparently some people don’t know how to read) an English-speaking site. I’m already thrilled that people get any of our jokes honestly. I’m not going to go the extra mile or change my blog because one disgruntled anon said I should. This is not an exclusively “”“”white history”“”” blog, but we post things that we and our audience think of. Telling us to change and not giving any suggestions is a sign of entitlement, and for a website that always complains about privilege well…

Again, you’re not entitled to a humor blog about non European/American history :)))))))

Anonymous asked: Didnt Caligula make his horse his advisor or something?

He planned to make his horse, Incitatus, a consul.

But man, he was crazy about that horse. He fed him oats mixed with gold, and had a stable made out of marble, and a bunch of other extravagant stuff.

Gotta love Caligula.
